Magazine discredited for excluding one of the greatest vocalists of our generation on greatest singers list
American entertainment magazine, The Rolling Stone, is being discredited for excluding Canadian vocalist, Celine Dion from its recently published 200 greatest singers of all time list. Celine who became world famous through the hit movie track from The Titanic, ‘My Heart Will Go On’ is considered one of the greatest vocalists of our generation.
The young French-Canadian vocalist who was to become one of the best selling artist of all time started off a debutante in USA music industry after winning the Eurovision for Switzerland in 1988 with the song, “Ne partez pas sans moi.”, and has not looked back since . She’s sung in movies such as Up Close and Personal, Titanic, Deadpool 2, Bicentennial Man, and Beauty and the Beast, among others. She has had a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame since 2004.
The best selling artist ranks in as probably somewhere in the top 3 all-time favorite female singers, particularly from the 1990s. May millenials grew up hearing the power diva trio of Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Celine Dion and absence of Celine while latter-day artists such as Taylor Swift, Alicia Keys, and Christina Aguleira made it has definetly created social media buzz, further questioning the credibility of Rolling Stone’s ranking.
