As someone who recently experienced the brunt of the ongoing influenza outbreak in Harare, I can personally attest to the power of natural remedies. I found relief and recovery through a mixture of lemon, garlic, honey, and ginger commonly referred to as a “Lemon Garlic Honey Ginger Elixir ”. I use this as a natural remedy for its various health benefits in prevention and treatment of all ailments.

Ginger: Known for its anti-inflammatory and antiviral properties, ginger helps alleviate sore throat and congestion.

Garlic: A natural antimicrobial, garlic boosts the immune system.

Honey: With its soothing and antibacterial properties, honey is perfect for sore throats and coughs.

Lemon: High in vitamin C, lemon aids the immune system and helps detoxify the body.

These ingredients can be found at your local supermarket, and garden. I blend ingredients into a smoothie or boil together into a strong tea sweetened with honey.

From green tea to herbal infusions, these beverages offer a comforting and effective way to combat flu symptoms and promote overall well-being. A combination of green tea and Moringa offers a potent blend of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.

Miracle Tree: Moringa has antiviral properties that can help fight off infections, including the influenza virus. It also contains vital nutrients like vitamin A, C and E. As well as the mineral, zinc, to support immune function.

Green Trea: Staying hydrated is crucial during illness, and green tea provides a hydrating option that can inhibit the replication of influenza viruses, potentially reducing the severity and duration of flu symptoms.

Add 1 teaspoon moringa powder to a hot cup of brewed green tea and let it steep for 2–3 minutes.
