Spotify Under Pressure to Remove Joe Rogan for Covid Misinformation

US Folk music rocker Neil Young on Wednesday removed his songs from the audio-streaming giant Spotify to protest anti-vaccine American media personality and commentator’s Joe Rogan’s podcast . The show, is being accused of COVID-19 misinformation-spreading. Spotify’s market capitalization has fallen by 25% since Joe Rogan ramped up his attacks of the vaccine on their platform, losing about $2.1 billion over a three-day span this week

Dozens of netizens are protesting online under the hashtag #ByeSpotify and some subscribers are ditching the service en-masse, demanding that Spotify crack down on coronavirus-related falsehoods on “The Joe Rogan Experience.” Daniel Ek, the CEO of Spotify closed an exclusive deal with Rogan to move his show (audio and video) to the Spotify platform in May 2020.
