The United Africa Royal Assembly has issued a powerful solidarity statement in support of Aliko Dangote and his groundbreaking Dangote Refinery, which is currently facing significant opposition from external forces. In their statement, the Assembly highlighted that these attacks are not merely targeted at an individual but are assaults on the broader Pan-African vision and the future prosperity of the continent. The refinery, a symbol of economic empowerment and self-sufficiency, aims to revolutionize the African crude oil industry by keeping wealth within the continent and creating numerous job opportunities. The United Africa Royal Assembly underscored the importance of defending this vital project against clandestine efforts by powerful foreign interests determined to maintain control over Africa’s resources and keep its nations impoverished.
The statement, signed by His Imperial Highness Prince Estifanos Matewos, President of the United Africa Royal Assembly, called upon all African heads of state, ministers, and leaders of crude oil-producing countries to unite in defense of the Dangote Refinery. It emphasized the need for traditional and spiritual leaders to join the fight, recognizing the refinery’s potential to secure a prosperous future for Africa. The Assembly reminded the continent of Aliko Dangote’s significant contributions during crises such as the Ebola outbreak, urging collective action to support the refinery and ensure it thrives. By standing with Dangote and his refinery, Africans are called to stand for the continent’s sovereignty and economic liberation, united in the face of external threats.
The Dangote Refinery, owned by the Dangote Group, is an oil refinery located in the Lekki Free Trade Zone, Lagos, Nigeria. It is one of the largest oil refineries in Africa and the world, with a processing capacity of 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day. Designed to produce a variety of petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and polypropylene, the refinery is expected to significantly reduce Nigeria’s dependence on imported refined petroleum products. The refinery aims to address Nigeria’s fuel supply issues and is expected to have a substantial economic impact by creating jobs, reducing fuel imports, and increasing the availability of petroleum products domestically. It is also anticipated to enhance the country’s foreign exchange reserves by exporting refined products.
The project is spearheaded by Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man, and is part of his broader industrial and infrastructure investments through the Dangote Group. The construction of the refinery has involved significant investment and collaboration with international companies. It includes a petrochemical plant and a fertilizer plant, adding to its strategic importance. The Dangote Refinery is a significant project for Nigeria and Africa, aiming to transform the region’s energy landscape and contribute to economic growth and development.
